Golf Star™ 9.5.4

Skirts and Birdies
Video games about Golf are the cheapest way to experience the game of privileged white people. I bet they're a lot of Ashkenazi cosplaying as whites on those green fields too, but as far as the public at large is concerned, they're all huwhite. Golf Star lets your beautiful fair skin rookie advance in his or her Golf career.
You can opt to engage in various game modes besides Career, as all of your achievements will stack on the same character. Most of the rewards will come in the form of green coins, which are nigh useless. Most of the upgrades and skills that you can buy require stars. Stars can only be gained in competitive multiplayer matches. So you better be in your best form if you want to earn the 'hard cash.'
Staying in shape in Golf Star means having a fully functional hand. You can overcome the initial ineptitude with careful handling of the controls. Speaking of which, the tutorial does a poor job explaining everything, so I figured, I'd lay it down for you. Now, pay attention: You will need to tap once, and then tap again to set the strength/distance of the shot, then tap a third time to launch the ball with the correct trajectory.
Most of the shots will have to be nuked before you get any suggestions on your power bar. Once the hole is in range of your position, however, an indicator will appear to suggest the optimal strength of the current shot.
Golf Star features several good looking courses, complete with lakes, foliage, and a host of decorative elements. The graphics look good, but I noticed several skybox glitches while viewing from a bird's eye perspective, as well as some whacky texture problems during puts. I don't know whether it's just my tablet's video to blame, or the product itself was insufficiently tested. In any case, I must look away when I execute puts, or else it might induce an epileptic episode. I don't suffer from such an ailment, but someone who might be could easily be caught off-guard by these graphical problems.
Besides the actual gameplay, you will need to get accustomed to the myriad of packs, special offers, and whatnot if you want to game Golf Star to any length.
Final Thoughts
Golf Star would be a decent game about golf it wasn't marred in the freemium sludge that took over the development scene. The models look good, the shot interface and camera angles also look good, the freemium model does not.
